CARROLLTON COTTAGE

Classic New Orleans cottage in the middle of the adorable Carrollton neighborhood; thoughtfully renovated with both traditional and modern touches.

We used a foundational palette of warm neutrals with splashes of more saturated colors in the accessories and art from the front of the home to the back. Our clients love to entertain and wanted a welcoming space with great flow to host guests.

The goal was to use a solid mix of contemporary, vintage and antique pieces, to add texture and layers throughout. We also kept our clients’ cats and dog in mind while selecting pet friendly textiles and rugs.

During the space planning process, we wanted to make sure we created two spaces that didn’t exist before: a dedicated entry for mail and keys and a dining room for long dinners with friends.

Every room is made more special by their exceptional collection of artwork.

The powder room was gutted and reimagined with handmade paper and a vintage inspired vanity. The kitchen was given a face lift: a new island in a beautiful and unexpected aubergine. and new countertops and backsplash, complementing the existing lacquer cabinets and making them feel more cohesive with the traditional bones of the house.

The guest room was important, as their parents visit often. It needed to be cozy and functional.

The primary suite is a favorite room in the home. We chose a gorgeous earthy salmon with accents of olive green and grounding black. It’s both serene and chic, the perfect place to start and end the day.
