PLUCK WINE BAR + RESTAURANT
A sophisticated yet comfortable wine bar and restaurant in the heart of the Warehouse District
During the design conceptualization phase, the owner expressed her desire to have a space that would feel comfortable for someone in a t-shirt and also for someone in a gown or tux. She also wanted to draw inspiration from old world France while keeping the space chic and modern. Alongside the architect, we specified different natural elements - stone walls and marble mosaic floors with warm wood furniture - to create a cozy and welcoming space.
Lighting choices were of utmost importance in this L-shaped space to not only create ambience, but also to carry the all-day restaurant from day into evening. The dramatic waves of shadows from the pendants play across the curved banquette alcoves finished in faux plaster.
Several custom pieces of furniture, art and lighting were created by local New Orleans artisans, including the host table, common dining table, slipper chairs and the intricate wine wheel.
A mix of new, vintage and antique pieces throughout create a layered and warm space.
The custom leather banquettes helped to maximize the seating in the narrow space. Window sheers add softness, light diffusion, and sound dampening.
The outdoor patio has flexible tables and chairs to allow for many configurations and groups.
