Toulouse Theatre
Historic music venue in the heart of New Orlean’s French Quarter
This celebrated music venue had many past lives and the owners wanted to honor and uphold its former iterations and spirit. In keeping with this sentiment, the main inspiration for the renovation was the existing vintage wallpaper covering the walls of the front bar, a fanciful red, black and gold brocade.
Modifications were made to the bar, theater doors, and floor plan in the main front bar to create better flow and more space for patrons, while keeping the essence of the space intact. New furniture and accessories add functionality to this popular hangout spot, offering a fun, layered, and flexible layout.
The main theater room was completely rethought. An oversized bar in the center of the room was removed to allow for a better acoustic experience. A side bar, running most of the length of one wall, was added making it more useable and accessible for both the bartenders and patrons. The main stage was restored and the side and back stage areas were reconfigured to provide the musicians and performers easier access and a better experience.
The upstairs bar was gutted and recreated to be cohesive with the downstairs areas and provide an easier flow for staff and guests.
